Your personal data may be included in Alcoco’s records. We are aware that the processing of your personal information may have implications for you. Your privacy matters to us. You can trust that we handle your data with care and in full compliance with applicable privacy laws. In this privacy statement, we explain how Alcoco processes your data.

Data processing
We collect and process both anonymous data and personal data.

Anonymous data refers to information that cannot be traced back to your identity, such as your IP address and browser settings. These are collected, for example, through cookies. Alcoco uses functional, analytical, and possibly tracking cookies to improve the website, analyze usage, and offer personalized content or advertisements.

Personal data refers to any information that can directly or indirectly identify you. Alcoco processes personal data as part of its services as a real estate agency, for example, when you contact us, schedule a viewing, list a property, or use our services (such as renting, buying, selling or property advice).

  • Financial information (e.g. when relevant to a rental or purchase process)

This data is provided by you or obtained through third parties as part of our services (such as notaries, fellow real estate agents, appraisers, or platforms like Funda and Pararius).

We do not process special categories of personal data.

Purposes of Data Processing
Alcoco only processes your personal data when there is a legal basis to do so. We use your data for the following purposes:

  • Creating and managing client files

  • Communicating about our services

  • Mediation in the purchase, sale, rental or letting of property

  • Fulfilling legal obligations, such as identity verification

  • Providing data to directly involved parties (such as notaries, housing platforms, tenants/landlords)

If we wish to use your data for other purposes, we will inform you beforehand.

Sharing Data with Third Parties
We only share your personal data with third parties when necessary for our services or when legally required.

With all parties who process personal data on behalf of Alcoco, we have data processing agreements in place. This ensures the security and confidentiality of your data.

Within Alcoco, personal data is only accessible to employees who need it for their work. They are bound by confidentiality agreements. Our systems are secured with up-to-date protective measures and are regularly monitored.

Retention Period
We do not keep your data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a legal retention period applies.

  • Client records are typically kept for 7 years (in accordance with fiscal retention obligations)

  • Contact details and communication are stored as long as needed to complete your request or assignment

After the retention period, your data will be deleted or anonymized.

As a data subject, you have several rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: You may request an overview of the data we process about you

  • Right to rectification: You may have incorrect data corrected

  • Right to erasure: You may request deletion of your data in certain cases

We will respond to your request within one month.

Data Breaches
Despite our care, a data breach may occur. In the event of a breach, we take immediate action and, if legally required, report it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority and/or affected individuals.
